Yes, you/your team are eligible to respond to the RFP. If you need assistance making some contacts with interdisciplinary researchers in your areas of interest, please contact any of the IDRB interim staff members.
Since this is the first RFP issues associated with the IDRB, you/your team are encouraged to reply to the RFP so that the IDRB Committee has a more informed perspective on immediate space needs vs. upcoming space needs. These upcoming space needs may be tied to anticipated external funding awards or new hires, for example.
All space needs in your home college/school will be discussed and determined through the negotiated process described in the RFP for selected research teams involving IDRB staff, VP for Research, the Provost, and the relevant deans and department heads.
You may be on more than one proposal.
Yes
There is a “Maker Space” on the second floor of the building.
There is no equipment in the new building. If your team’s proposal is selected to move to the “two-step” process, the discussion about access to equipment will take place, engaging Department heads, Deans, VP-Research, and Provost.
Your team may have co-PIs but only one person should be named as the PI on the IDRB proposal submission.
It is recommended that you think about your team’s flexibility in utilizing space. You may list your team’s desired timeline plus a second timeline that would be a workable timeline for your team.
In theory, yes. However, the individual should consider the following: if both proposals were successful, practically speaking, would the faculty member be able to fulfill the two different leadership roles?
You are correct; you do not have to apply for space if applying for a seed grant and it is not a factor in ranking your request for seed grant; they are independent.
The funds will need to be spent within one year (12 months) from start of project.
